UX Design Lead

About the Role:
CODE Staffing is looking for a full-time UX Design Lead, employee or contractor. Remote can be considered, but located in the Houston, TX area preferred.
As a UX Design Lead you will become an integral part of our platform and shared-services teams. Our fast and challenging environment will provide you with opportunities to practice the disciplines of UX design, interaction design (IxD) and UI development. In this role, you will work closely with a design team to provide the quality and usability needed to deliver excellent user experiences for our suite of mobile and desktop products.
Responsibilities:
- Work across all disciplines of UX to concept, develop and review applications for desktop and mobile
- Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to create early design concepts and iterative prototypes
- Identify gaps between the current and the ideal user experience to drive innovation focus and purpose
- Continuously challenge the effectiveness of design and recommending changes as appropriate
- Work with each team to identify and recruit users for involvement throughout the design process
- Work with design leads to leverage our internal design system for best practices across products
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in information science, interaction design (IxD), service design or product design or equivalent professional experience
- Ability to present to senior leadership via strong oral skills and evangelize UXD throughout the organization
- Ability to lead, mentor and coach UX team members through positive guidance and support
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and strong collaboration with developers
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects and related tasks
- Entrepreneurial spirit, flexible to change, high tolerance for ambiguity and self-motivated
- Comfortable making decisions independently as well as within a team
- Design system knowledge and experience is a prerequisite
- Experience using Figma, FigJam, Adobe Creative Cloud suite, Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)
- Oil & gas or finance industry experience welcomed and a plus
Local Houston hire preferred but remote within Texas a consideration.
